Why blogging for money hardly works.

Before I break the grounds, let me just say that there are hundreds of full-time bloggers earning thousands of dollars per month. The point conveyed here is that blogging for money hardly works. As in, if your ultimate motive of blogging is to find money, it sometimes may end-up in ruins. Making money, as a side-effect of writing about something you’re passionate about, really works.

To make money blogging, there are a few things you must first fulfill.

  • You must really have a passion for what you’re writing.
  • You must have a worked-out writing frequency.
  • You should stick to a definite topic or a niche to encourage subscriptions and discussions.
  • If you want to continue making money, you should not get tired of the blogging niche and be willing to continue at all costs.
  • You should make it through the rough times of $0 income and ‘no comments’.

Unless you fulfill these things, you will not live to see your first check.

None of the bloggers I know who made it big time had the initial drive to earn money. But they were passionate about what they were writing and that’s the reason why they made it there.

For an instance, if your prime motive is earning money, then how motivated can you be in those days when no one reads your blog? How can you keep you self together without the glorious fall that initiates with “This is ridiculous. This isn’t what I should do to earn money” statement?

You can try to constantly keep changing your niches. Let me tell you what I did. I started blogging as a metal journalist. The I tried out a few very different topics. None of them worked for me. I tried, got 10 good articles down, then I lost track and discouraged so I gave each and every one of them until I started Mindblogger. I haven’t still made it to the big-time. But I’m sure that I’m on my way.

And what’s great about this? I enjoy writing for this blog. Even if no one reads my articles (oh! they do!!) I still am doing something I’m really passionate about. Blogging about Blogging. Passionately expressing myself over something I’m passionate about.

But if you ever face my situation, just make it an opportunity to try out few niches and get into your rhythm. And believe me, in that time, you’ll learn a lot.

Nice advice, I write about a variety of subjects of which I am extremely passionate about. I have now been approached to by people to advertise on my site. I made one sale and am excited about it, however am now getting quite impatient as I feel I am offering the best deal in town and am getting frustrated because no one is buying.

Before starting my health blog i tried out different niches too! About 3 or 4…
