Well I think, posting more often basically makes search engines think that this blog is being updated frequently.. so this blog must be of good quality. and thinking so they usually improve the search engine rankings for that blog and ultimately the visitors of that blog increases up.. so this is what I think!

Hmm, so if you are posting 3 times a day are you posting quality content or just spamming? Quality SHOULD win out over quantity. Go look at Organic Google Search Results or Google Adwords. In both, Google wants quality.

The other side of the coin is sphinn.com or StumbleUpon.com. Most of the stuff being sphunn or stumbled is crap. It's bloggers who have agreed to ping each other so they rank higher on social networking without saying anything of value. This will eventually kill off social networking as marketing strategy.

Sure, the more you update, the more organic hits you will get. However, why not update less and work on gaining high page ranked backlinks for posts you've already completed? That's what I have been doing as of late.

Remember, it's not quantity, it's quality. This goes for linkbuilding too.

I would connect to this by stating that updating a blog more would give more visitors if the extra updates are up to par with the level of posting that was previously performed. However, if the extra post are noticeably of a lower quality than the standard posts, people will notice and see the writer's limitations. That doesn't tend to be beneficial.

i think the answer is yes. The more entry we update everyday at our blog, the more traffic we will get and visitor will come from search engine. Aim for long term. Not short term.. ;)

I think if you post more often with quality content it sure will increase your traffic, I do agree with you that you need to set aside enough time to work the seo for your site.

Hi there, I 've decided early on that I would post and let that post stay up for a good two days, I think it seems like it gives more people time to read that post. I've been to some blogs and they are putting up a new post everyday and by the time you get back to leave a comment that post is gone. I like to let my readers really have time to read then comment. But then I've never tried it by doing a post everyday, so I wouldn't know how to gauge it. Thanks for the info.

I couldn't agree with you more..I am not posting more than 3 posts per day but still managing a good traffic, and a traffic rank..Other than SEO, social networks are a great way to get traffic and you should be active in at least in 3 networks. For me I love su, reddit and digg.
