Should bloggers be taken seriously?

Here’s my point. Clear and Concise. Bloggers are so full of themselves. They hardly mean their own words. All they care about is finding money working from home. They are evil, ruthless, and can get really violent while proving their own point. An immoral bunch of people, can probably be regarded as the root of all evil! They do not respect the other’s opinion and they always think they are right! Right?
Wrong! That’s everything that a blogger isn’t. Or at least, shouldn’t be. But even if we were a bunch of people like that, you would take us seriously! I mean, very SERIOUSLY! Why? Doesn’t that sound just like what your favorite celebrity is? And you don’t take him/her seriously? Oh, by all means, YES! Even if we were the complete opposite, the root of all the good, still YES! We are the real heroes.
Now there, I didn’t give you much freedom in answering the question did I?
Did you know that 120,000 blogs are created everyday? And according to a survey done by “Blogging - the Movie” Documentary, 89% of the companies put their trust on the bloggers and say that blogs will be more important in the next 5 years? Did you know that 22 of the world’s top 100 sites are blogs? Well, if you knew, good for you. If you didn’t, well, still good for you. You will always remember this day as the day you almost took a blogger seriously. (I had to cut the almost, since that sounds a bit like Captain Jack Sparrow. My favorite celebrity. Talk about Irony!)
Now the good thing about this question, I believe, is that you can never answer NO! If you do, then there’s no way you are reading this post:) Wait, you are! So, to simplify the matters, let’s narrow down the question. “Should a blogger be taken seriously?” . The easiest answers would be, “Depending on the fact whether that blogger needs to be taken seriously!”. Honestly, if you don’t want people to take you seriously, they won’t. But even if you do, if you don’t act like a serious blogger, you got a problem there.
Be heard. Have your own voice. Do not copycat other people’s success, because you can never get what they did. Because they already got it. Speak you mind out. Bloggers aren’t reporters. We don’t report things. We give our opinion. And we voice the opinion of the common people. That’s why CNN would never hire me. We have developed a mutation in our genes to be internet-daredevils. To be different than the rest. To empower the social media revolution. To take internet to the next level. We have made FeedBurner the fastest growing network in the world.
We virtually have the power to nuke the internet. (Don’t worry. We won’t do that) So many businesses, individuals, organizations, governments, agencies depend on us. Make a living from us. And by all means, if a blogger understands that he is a part of all this, I don’t see why you shouldn’t take him/her seriously. People like Steve Pavlina has the influence to build the next mini Nazi. (Again, Don’t worry. He won’t do that)
Yes, I do take “serious” bloggers, seriously. Why? They deserve it. They deserve it more than Paris Hilton or Keanu Reeves. Not all. But some. Maybe a little. And they are bloggers! And I respect them for that.

you raised great points here! serious bloggers deserve to be taken seriously. but the fact remains that there’s only a small bunch of serious bloggers (i’m not one of them) and that’s why they deserve more respect
