For an example, you can follow a few of the people you got to know through MyBlogLog on Twitter, with a click of a button. Even if you dreamt it or not, if you’re trying to promote your blog through social media, you can surely make good use of such a tool right?

Well, it’s here – the MyBlogLog friend connector.

You can find this tool in the “add/manage friends” section of your MyBlogLog profile.

To make a long story short, As you can see in the image above, it conveniently lists all your friends and their available social media listings. If they are listed in a certain network, a ‘+’ is displayed and if not an ‘X’. One click on the ‘+’ will bring you to their profile on that network, so you can make a connection to them there., with just one click.

Although many bloggers prefer BlogCatalog over MyBlogLog, this recent addition and the addition of MyBlogLog Friender truly helps bloggers to get the most of their social media promotions. MBL Connector is still in beta, but it’s in a pretty stable state. ROCKFUSE recommendation? Definitely!

I came across this e-mail by BlogCatalog a while ago. It’s about a widget they claim to be the “most useful, innovative widget that BlogCatalog has launched so far”. Personally I’ve not been a hardcore fan of BlogCatalog, but after testing the waters, I am considering inducting the widget into my blog. After all, this new widget, “News Feed”, might be the next level of a blogger’s typical social widget.

What does it do? Well, as they claim, basically whatever you wanted a social widget on your blog to do. It can obtain your latest activities from a number of social networks. To be precise, Amazon Wish lists, BlogCatalog, Delicious, Digg, Facebook, Flickr, Last.fm, Multiply, MySpace, Sphinn, StumbleUpon, Twitter, YouTube, and more.

It would definitely replace those half a dozen of social network widgets you’re running on your sidebar and save you some real-estate while giving you the option of staying connected with your friends, across the networks. People can even subscribe to your “News Feed” and follow you around. This might be a great way to let your friends/followers/fans know about that great post you stumbled, or simply, to get their eyes on the new Flickr album.

And, don’t worry about keeping your blog design consistent. You can customize this widget anyway you want! After all, that’s what a widget should be right?

Off their official e-mail, “The bottom line: it’s very dynamic and versatile tool because it’s one of the first cross social network solutions out there” Though I’m not planning to switch from my “Twitter Widget” to “News Feed” here and now, you’d definitely see it in a couple of days. So, ‘go’ social?

“Come make Windows Live the best place to share your digital memories! Heard of Flickr? YouTube? How about. Mac? This role will work across the new Windows Live division with teams like Spaces, SkyDrive, Messenger and Hotmail to construct a winning strategy for Microsoft in photo and video sharing.”

That was an exact extract from a job posting in Microsoft. Well, what does it mean? Microsoft is definitely on it’s way to create another Flickr! With such vast resources at their disposal and millions of Winows Live users, they are bound to do it – even better than Flickr!

Just imagine, If they could really promote this with other Live products (which is what they WILL do), they could indeed threaten the existence of iLife even. Anyways, I sincerely hope that they succeed. Another Flickr can never hurt the cyberspace and what’s more? Another Flickr + Youtube at the same place!!

So I’m keeping my fingers crossed for that. Would really like to see what they can come up with. And if they really buy Facebook as well, oh., then Google will have a REAL competitor! I’m not sure about the whole “Microsoft buying Facebook” thing. But I can pretty much assure you that they’ll create this ultimate ‘Flickr + You Tube’!

So what do you think? Will they be able to pull it off?
