			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><img style="display: inline; margin: 0px 5px 5px 0px" height="130" src="http://www.rockfuse.com/blog/advertise_here.jpg" width="130" align="left" /> Well, same here. For some reason, it seems that all the private advertisers have gone to Neverland. Maybe it’s the weakening economy or maybe it’s something else. But surprisingly enough, with the usage of more and more affiliate networks on my blogs, less private advertisers mean more money for me overall. How? Affiliate money! And that just might be the reason.</p>
<p>You see, ever since blog networks came out, big spenders had always been going for blog networks. It is much easier to handle a lot of blogs under one co-ordination other than co-coordinating the whole thing with a lot of independent bloggers. So because of that, big advertisers would slowly trend towards blog networks over time.</p>
<p>And the ones that don’t? Well, most of them are having their own affiliate programs going for them. I mean, see, if you pay a blogger $50 to run a 125&#215;125 banner ad for a full month and if you’re not entirely sure of that blogger actually giving you a good ROI, why not go for an affiliate program? If you pay $25 per new signup, the blogger who can deliver more signups will obviously earn more than $50 and the company is not going to pay for blogs that pull up misleading blog stats and don’t deliver what they ought to be delivering right? It’s lucrative to both publishers and advertisers alike!</p>
<p>And guess what! If they can’t make the initial investment to run their own affiliate network, they can join a network like Pepperjam that would do the job for them, including click tracking, payout handling and so on. Running an affiliate program for a product had never been this easy. And what’s more attractive than a $25 per signup affiliate program? A lifetime revenue sharing affiliate network, of course. More and more bloggers tend to dig this option and there are now a lot of affiliate networks giving publishers lifetime revenue. Something that a monthly advertisement can not bring to the table.</p>
<p>So at the end of the day, what I can see is that unless an independent blogger is a prominent face in a specific niche, going can get really rough for him or her. It’s survival of the fittest you know. But as a direct result, internet advertising field will be subjected to unprecedented growth. Less fraud, and foolproof Return-on-Investment means that advertisers are virtually willing to throw their money at you, if you can deliver the results.</p>
<p>So, if your private advertisers are disappearing by the week, it might not be all bad.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Most of the ROCKFUSE readers who joined our contest with <a href="http://www.rockfuse.com/blog/recommended/performancingads" rel="nofollow">Performancing Ads</a> complained that they couldn&#8217;t run Performancing ads on their blogspot blogs since Performancing Ads needed publishers to add PHP codes to show the ads. And some of you didn&#8217;t simply signup with Performancing Ads since you&#8217;re selling ad space on OiO Publisher and you couldn&#8217;t mess up your blog&#8217;s layout.</p>
<p>Guess what? Performancing ads now lets you display your ad regions using JavaScript too. This basically means that you can insert Performancing Ads wherever HTML is supported. Including blogger blog and, of course &#8211; OiO Publisher.</p>
<p>If you still haven&#8217;t put your blog into the Performancing Ads marketplace, well, this is your moment! <a href="http://www.rockfuse.com/blog/recommended/performancingads" rel="nofollow">Signup for Performancing Ads now</a>!</p>
<h3>Running Performancing Ads on OiO Publisher</h3>
<p>Find your ad region code. Here&#8217;s a screenshot on how to find your 4-digit ad region code. (You should be in the &#8220;ad regions&#8221; section of your Performancing Ads panel.</p>
<p align="center"><img height="222" alt="Untitled" src="http://www.rockfuse.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/windowslivewriterhowtomakeperformancingadsrunonoiopublish-ff6buntitled-4a067a93-6a5d-45b9-b31e-c8480b42aac0.png" width="624" border="0"></p>
<p align="left">Then, log on to your OiO Publisher admin Panel and go to the default ads section. And select a default ad space and choose &#8220;HTML&#8221; as it&#8217;s source. </p>
<p>Then simply, add the following code, replacing the XXXX with your Ad Regions code.</p>
<pre style="border-right: #c0c0c0 1px solid; padding-right: 5px; border-top: #c0c0c0 1px solid; padding-left: 5px; font-size: 12px; min-height: 40px; padding-bottom: 5px; overflow: auto; border-left: #c0c0c0 1px solid; width: 653px; padding-top: 5px; border-bottom: #c0c0c0 1px solid; font-family: monospace; height: 35px; background-color: #fbfbfb">&lt;script type="<span style="color: #8b0000">text/javascript</span>" src=http:<span style="color: #008000">//jserve.performancingads.com/js/perfads.js?r=XXXX&gt;</span>
&lt;/script&gt;</pre>
<p>Here&#8217;s the screenshot after the code being inserted. (Click to enlarge)</p>
<p align="center"><img height="118" alt="Untitled2" src="http://www.rockfuse.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/windowslivewriterhowtomakeperformancingadsrunonoiopublish-ff6buntitled2-1e7b0f0f-fab4-48fa-9e23-5c91fec6c5ca.png" width="400" border="0"> </p>
<p>And you&#8217;re done! If you&#8217;re adding a Performancing Ad region like this, you must keep two things in mind.</p>
<ol>
<li>If the Performancing Ad space is booked, make sure you save that default ad space intact, without being booked by your OiO Publisher advertisers.
<li>Make sure every ad region created from Performancing ads is of 1&#215;1 dimension. If you&#8217;re using OiO Publisher to list your Performancing Ads, that means you&#8217;re specifying a new 125&#215;125 single ad unit for OiO Publisher.</li>
</ol>
<h3>Running Performancing Ads on Blogspot Blogs</h3>
<p>Really easy. Just take the code below;</p>
<pre style="border-right: #c0c0c0 1px solid; padding-right: 5px; border-top: #c0c0c0 1px solid; padding-left: 5px; font-size: 12px; min-height: 40px; padding-bottom: 5px; overflow: auto; border-left: #c0c0c0 1px solid; width: 653px; padding-top: 5px; border-bottom: #c0c0c0 1px solid; font-family: monospace; height: 35px; background-color: #fbfbfb">&lt;script type="<span style="color: #8b0000">text/javascript</span>" src=http:<span style="color: #008000">//jserve.performancingads.com/js/perfads.js?r=XXXX&gt;</span>
&lt;/script&gt;</pre>
<p>Replace XXXX with your ad region, and paste in wherever you want (preferably, sidebar!) &#8211; and you&#8217;re done!</p>
<p><strong>If you got any questions with this, just shoot me an e-mail. I&#8217;ll be happy to help you.</strong></p>

<p><a href="http://www.rockfuse.com/blog/performancingads/">PeformancingAds</a>&#8216; second coming had been rocking the scene for the past few days. Many Top bloggers are promoting <a href="http://www.rockfuse.com/blog/performancingads/">PerformancingAds</a>, and calling it a killer way to make more money. My private ad sales are pretty much alright, but I went on and just tried it out anyway.</p>
<p>First of all, I want to start off by saying that <a href="http://www.rockfuse.com/blog/performancingads/">PeformancingAds</a>, in its&#8217; simplest form, it&#8217;s an ad marketplace. You put up ad slots on your blog and and advertisers go through the marketplace and purchase those spots. You can price ads for your own rates and you get to keep 60% of the income at first. If you&#8217;re a &#8220;good publisher&#8221; by their metrics, then you can claim as high as 90% of the ad price. Ads are booked by the week and payments are transferred through PayPal.</p>
<p>For now, it&#8217;s designed to sell only 125&#215;125 ads. But they say:</p>
<blockquote><p>If you are a publisher whose website receives over 250,000 US pageviews per month <a href="http://www.rockfuse.com/blog/performancingads/">PerformancingAds</a> may be able to offer you direct ad sales representation for your 728&#215;90, 300&#215;250 and 160&#215;600 ad spots.
<p>We have established relationships with brand advertisers and are able to leverage our network of sites to get high-value ad deals. If you&#8217;d like us to help sell ads on your site, and you get at least 250,000 US pageviews per month, please submit an application for review.</p>
</blockquote>
<p>Well how much money can you make from <a href="http://www.rockfuse.com/blog/performancingads/">PeformancingAds</a>? Depends on how well you blog performs. I was able to get a booking under 24 hours from being accepted in.
<p>An innovative feature I found in <a href="http://www.rockfuse.com/blog/performancingads/">PerformancingAds</a> was the banner exchange. They say that my banner can be exchanged with other publishers according to a certain point system. But, from thereon, I found info on that to be a bit vague. So, I really can not explain how exactly that happens. But according to what <a href="http://www.rockfuse.com/blog/performancingads/">PeformancingAds</a> team says, the point system is determined by your ad performance and how much money you&#8217;re bringing in.
<p>Furthermore, I found <a href="http://www.rockfuse.com/blog/performancingads/">PeformancingAds</a> to be a great place to advertise too. Especially provided the fact that you can purchase ads by weeks. I found some great places to advertise, of which rate per week runs from $5 &#8211; $20 and more. It&#8217;s great for advertising as well as making money. And if you buy adverts worth $100 or more, you get $25 off it seems.
<p>Bottom line <a href="http://www.rockfuse.com/blog/performancingads/">PeformancingAds</a> is a great place, worth a try. Might work out for you, might not &#8211; but I had my money on the former and I was right. <a href="http://www.rockfuse.com/blog/performancingads/">Click here</a> to check <a href="http://www.rockfuse.com/blog/performancingads/">PeformancingAds</a> out.</p>

And do you feel that it&#8217;s a bit messed up &#8211; you keeping the track of time, manual payments via Paypal and editing your theme all the time when new advertisers roll along for your blog? Well, this is one of my personal recommendations &#8211; try out <a href="http://www.rockfuse.com/blog/oiopublisher/" target="_blank">OiOpublisher</a>. This is not a paid review or anything, and I&#8217;m doing this review on <a href="http://www.rockfuse.com/blog/oiopublisher/" target="_blank">OiOpublisher</a> solely because it&#8217;s a system that every blogger can immensely benefit from.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s been a few months since I&#8217;ve started using OiOpublisher. And since day #1, I never had to have any interactions with my private advertisers, except for answering a query or two sometime. Simply explaining the usability of OiOpublisher, it presents the prospective advertisers with advertising choices, accepts their Paypal payments, and automatically posts their ads on the ad spaces as required. I simply have to moderate the requests and that&#8217;s it.</p>
<p>It comes out as a Wordpress plugin with a few modules. Installing it is as easy as setting up a new plugin. After that, it will provide you with instructions to set up your ad spaces, integrate your PayPal account and so on. <strong>The only catch is that it&#8217;s $37</strong>. But, it&#8217;s money well spent since you&#8217;ll be able to earn it back in no time, thanks to the amazing functionality of this plugin.</p>
<p><img style="margin: 0px 0px 3px 3px" src="http://www.oiopublisher.com/images/banners/oiopublisher2.gif" align="right"> Advertisers save time and energy, and so do the publishers. It virtually puts your advertising on Auto-Pilot and lets you keep 100% of the ads revenue to yourself since there&#8217;s no middle man involved. And guess what? The stats tracker module will monitor your blog&#8217;s performance and report it weekly to your advertisers automatically. (Of course, all these features can be opted-out)</p>
<p>Suppose you have a few ad spots unsold for sometime&#8230; What you can do is easily insert some default affiliate banners there in the place of the unsold ad spaces. OiOpublisher will keep the default ads, till an advertiser pays you up and purchase that spot from you. In simple words, your earning potential is greatly boosted. You can also have your blog listed at the official OiOpublisher marketplace where it&#8217;ll be easier for those advertisers to find you.</p>
<p>Not only banners. You can directly sell anything from text links to paid reviews, even run your own affiliate program for that e-book you&#8217;re selling.</p>
<p>You can try it for free, but all the killer features are missing in the free &#8220;Lite version&#8221;. Nevertheless, if you&#8217;re skeptical about it&#8217;s capabilities, give it a test drive. I&#8217;d highly recommend it to any blogger trying to sell private advertising.&nbsp; <a href="http://www.rockfuse.com/blog/oiopublisher/" target="_blank">Click here</a> to check it out.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><a href="http://www.pjtra.com/t/QjtGRz87QkVDQjs_Rj4"><img title="Review Me" style="margin: 0px 3px 3px 0px" height="150" alt="Review Me" src="http://www.pjtra.com/b/QjtGRz87QkVDQjs_Rj4" width="180" align="left" border="0"></a>If someone asked me to recommend them the best blog reviewing marketplace, without a doubt, I&#8217;d point them to <a href="http://www.rockfuse.com/blog/reviewme" target="_blank">ReviewMe</a>. Why? Simply because, it has a good number of offers available for taking, only quality advertisers are featured and from what I&#8217;ve seen, it&#8217;s the best paying reviewing marketplace out there.
<p>I&#8217;ve tried out many reviewing marketplaces like Smorty and BuyBlogreviews., but I guess they do not even come close to the standards of <a href="http://www.rockfuse.com/blog/reviewme" target="_blank">ReviewMe</a> in quality &#8211; and it&#8217;s also, the marketplace which I&#8217;ve earned the most from, up to date. Usually, a review can go from $20 to about $200, depending on the quality of your blog.</p>
<p>So you might wonder &#8211; if it&#8217;s so great, and if it pays big money, why not so many bloggers actively promote it? </p>
<p>Because, out of all the review marketplaces, it&#8217;s the hardest one to get into. And that in turn makes sure that they have a certain defined standard for the accepted blog &#8211; in other words, only quality, established blogs are accepted. And, that&#8217;s the whole reason why advertisers pay big money to get you to review them through ReviewMe.</p>
<p>Once approved, your blog gets a ranking depending on the Alexa Score, Google PR, RSS Subscribers and Technorati Stats. The better the ranking, the more you will earn.</p>
<p>Also, I&#8217;d like to talk about <a href="http://www.rockfuse.com/blog/reviewme" target="_blank">ReviewMe</a>&#8217;s unique Paynoeer Mastercard deal. You can get the Payoneer Mastercard regardless of your loaction (US/Outside US), and you can directly draw money to that card, after which you can draw money from ATMs, or use it online, like a normal MasterCard. If you choose to get the Payoneer Mastercard, <a href="http://www.rockfuse.com/blog/reviewme" target="_blank">ReviwMe</a> will give you 50% discount on the card activation fee.</p>
<p>But, what I really like about <a href="http://www.rockfuse.com/blog/reviewme" target="_blank">ReviewMe</a> is the fact that I don&#8217;t really have to be unethical and provide a 100% positive review. In fact, as the last &#8220;Why I dig <a href="http://www.rockfuse.com/blog/reviewme" target="_blank">ReviewMe</a>&#8221; reason, I will quote this from their Advertiser FAQ.</p>
<blockquote><p><strong>For Advertisers:</strong> Can I require a positive review?</p>
<p>We do not allow advertisers to require a positive review. The vast majority of reviews are measured positive, although many do contain constructive criticism. We view this solution as a bonus: how else can you quickly and cheaply receive feedback on a product or service from influencers?</p>
</blockquote>
<p>So, if you&#8217;re a bloggers trying to make a buck online, there&#8217;s no better place to get paid for reviewing stuff than <a href="http://www.rockfuse.com/blog/reviewme" target="_blank">ReviewMe</a>. <a href="http://www.rockfuse.com/blog/reviewme" target="_blank"><strong>Click here</strong></a><strong> to check it out.</strong></p>

With that being said, I feel advertisers benefit from this marketplace more than the bloggers.</p>
<p>Talking about the getting started process of <a href="http://www.rockfuse.com/blog/buyblogreviews.php" target="_blank">BuyBlogReviews</a>, you will have to go thorough a manual approval system like all of the other Get Paid to Review systems. Although they said it can take up to 72 hours for the blog to get approved, I recall ROCKFUSE being accepted within a few hours. So, thumbs up for that.</p>
<p>The wonder of this marketplace, as I mentioned earlier, is the ability to bid for reviews. Advertisers can create opportunities, explaining the nature of the review, anchor text, and with the maximum amount the advertiser is willing to pay for a single review.</p>
<p>Then it&#8217;s up to the blogger. You can go thorough the available review opportunities and choose to review stuff, and place your bid there. For an example, if the maximum bid says $50, you can bid for an amount within $1 &#8211; $50 for the review. A higher bid will make you more money if your bid was approved, but will slim down your chances of getting approved if too many bloggers are going to review the service at a lower bid. And it works the other way around as well. So, make sure that you find your balance.</p>
<p>This way, a blogger can choose the opportunities matching his/her blog while placing a bid to his/her liking. At the same time, advertisers can check out multiple competitive bids placed by the bloggers interested in reviewing their system, and approve the ones they feel that would give them the best value for money.</p>
<p>One thing that I didn&#8217;t like about the system was that a good number of available opportunities are from gambling sites. And most of the reviews are within $1-$5 price range, although there are a couple of opportunities paying around $50. They also have the balloon button like PayPerPost telling the viewers that it&#8217;s a sponsored review. Guess it can be opted-out of you want.</p>
<p>As the conclusion, I feel <a href="http://www.rockfuse.com/blog/buyblogreviews.php" target="_blank">BuyBlogReviews</a> is a system worth trying out, but only if you want to review stuff for dirt cheap. But I highly recommend it if you want to buy reviews from other bloggers, to promote your own projects. You can check it out <a href="http://www.rockfuse.com/blog/buyblogreviews.php" target="_blank">here</a>.</p>

<p>In their own words:</p>
<blockquote><p>Project Wonderful is an online advertising broker with an innovative model that brings fairness, transparency, and profitability to the advertising process.</p>
</blockquote>
<p><em>So, let&#8217;s cut to the chase:</em></p>
<table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="2" width="450" border="1">
<tbody>
<tr>
<td valign="top" width="222"><strong>Pros</strong></td>
<td valign="top" width="226"><strong>Cons</strong></td>

<tr>
<td valign="top" width="222">
<p><strong>Run short and effective ad campaign on a very low budget.</strong> Although the average CPC (Cost-per-click) is around $0.04, the CPM (Cost-per-Impression) can be as super low as $0.02!</p>
<p>For a new blogger trying to drive traffic in but can&#8217;t afford $40 125&#215;125 spots, Project Wonderful is a gold-mine.</p>
<p><strong>The advertising cost is well worth the return.</strong></p>
</td>
<td valign="top" width="226">
<p>Project Wonderful seriously <strong>undermines the value of ad-spaces</strong>. </p>
<p><strong>High traffic sites usually do not tend to offer advertising</strong> space on Project Wonderful. <em>It&#8217;s really not affordable for them to maintain dedicated servers which cost $300 a month and offer advertising space at $0.02-$0.03 per thousand impressions.</em></p>
<p>Their minimum payout is $5, which is not too bad. But for a new blogger trying to make a buck out of advertising, it might take a while before that $5 comes out.</p>

<h3>Making the most out of something wonderful</h3>
<ul>
<li><strong><a href="http://www.rockfuse.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/04/windowslivewriterhereshowyoucangetthemostoutofprojectwond-11c93dimes-2.jpg"><img style="border-top-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; margin: 0px 0px 3px 5px; border-right-width: 0px" height="244" alt="dimes" src="http://www.rockfuse.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/04/windowslivewriterhereshowyoucangetthemostoutofprojectwond-11c93dimes-thumb.jpg" width="179" align="right" border="0"></a> Tip#1:</strong> <strong>If you make under $0.16 a day, just don&#8217;t bother collecting that money so you can withdraw it after you reach $5.</strong> It will take you more than a month and it&#8217;s just not worth it. Instead, spend it on advertising. When the bucks come in, roll &#8216;em out. It&#8217;s your safest bet., and let&#8217;s face it &#8211; you can get some decent traffic off it.
<li><strong>Tip#2:</strong> <strong>If you want to buy premium ads off a blog, and want to test the waters a bit, if that blog offers project wonderful advertising, you&#8217;re in luck.</strong> All the project wonderful costs are per day ad you can run your ad for a day and see how well it does before buying a premium spot off for a month. It gives you an idea of how many impressions and conversions you might get for your money.
<li><strong>Tip#3:</strong> <strong>If you have a blog which averages under 200 page views per day, just don&#8217;t set a minimum bid-amount.</strong> Setting a minimum bid will probably make you lose some potential advertisers campaigning on the Project Wonderful campaign panel. An advertiser will hardly advertise on a space where a minimum bid is mentioned but isn&#8217;t having any running ad. Let the crazed advertisers drive your prices sky-high.
<li><strong>Tip#4:</strong> <strong>Advertise on competitive ad spaces.</strong> It doesn&#8217;t really matter even if you get outbid in the next 3 hours after placing your bid. It&#8217;s better to grab 1000 impressions and 6 clicks off an advertisement for $0.20 than 200 impressions off 5 different blogs, giving you no clicks for $0.05 spent.
<li><strong>Tip #5: Keep experimenting.</strong> Experiment with different ads on different sites. You got a chance to gamble with cents! How often does that kind of a chance come around?</li>
</ul>
<h3>The conclusion</h3>
<p>It&#8217;s been sometime since I&#8217;ve started to run Project Wonderful ads on ROCKFUSE. I make more than $0.04 usually per day, sometimes, as high as $0.12 &#8211; but nothing more. And that is off two 125&#215;125 ad spots, above the fold, in my sidebar. If my math is right, I&#8217;ll make around a little over 1 dollar on average per month &#8211; which doesn&#8217;t even come close to the value of one of my 125&#215;125 ad slots.</p>
<p>The whole reason for me to run them is to re-use that money in advertising, which is what I&#8217;m doing right now.<strong> When I make a cent, I spend it on advertising.</strong></p>
<p><strong>The bottom line: </strong><u>Great tool for advertisers, not too great for publishers.</u></p>
<p><strong>On a general stance, do you think the advertising efforts in Project Wonderful is in vain?</strong></p>
<p><strong></strong> </p>
<p>PS: By the way, it&#8217;s <a href="http://problogger.net" target="_blank"><strong>Darren</strong></a><strong>&#8217;s</strong> birthday today. Just thought that you guys might be interested in asking for a treat from the problogger himself! Happy birthday Darren.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Well, since I had been talking about offering paid reviews through your blog lately, I thought of making <a href="http://smorty.com">Smorty</a> a victim of my critique.</strong></p>
<h3>What is Smorty?</h3>
<p><img src="http://www.rockfuse.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/images3.jpg" alt="Smorty" align="left" hspace="5" vspace="2" />So what is Smorty? Well, the simplest definition would be: &#8220;It&#8217;s a network that connects advertisers and bloggers, and gives bloggers the chance to get paid to blog about the advertisers&#8221;. In another words, it&#8217;s <strike>one of those places</strike> THE place where you can <a href="http://www.smorty.com">get paid to blog</a>.</p>
<p>Since 75% of the thousands of active independent bloggers are trying to blog for money and 7 out of every 10 companies believe that blogs would be more important in the next 20 years as a medium of information and are working constantly towards blog advertising, Smorty is the killer-deal.</p>
<h3>What I like about Smorty</h3>
<ul>
<li>Smorty doesn&#8217;t require you to do many fancy things like inserting fancy &#8220;sponsored by&#8221; buttons at the end of your posts. If you&#8217;re an ethical blogger, you can simply give it away by telling your readers that it&#8217;s a sponsored post.</li>
<li>You can register upto 10 blogs with Smorty. Unlike many other services which require you to have a different account for every blog you have, Smorty gives you the chance to eliminate the biggest hassle of them all.</li>
<li>Sellouts can&#8217;t make money from Smorty. Yeap, they require you to have atleast 40% of unpaid content in you blog.</li>
<li>Only quality blogs are approved. Smorty has a series of ground rules regulating this. Rules like &#8220;the blog should be at least 3 months old&#8221; and so on.</li>
