Why Google AdSense doesn’t work on some niche blogs

Google AdSense As you can see, I’ve stopped running Google AdSense on my blog. I knew sometime back that I’d be forced to stop running it somewhere down the line but never thought it should be this soon. And if you’ve observed the fact, many blogs in the same niche as mine do not run AdSense at all.

Although AdSense can be highly effective in some niches, in some, like mine, it can be fairly useless and a waste of resources.

Monetize you blog with Clickbooth

It’s been sometime, 51 days to be exact, since I’ve signed up with Clickbooth - the affiliate publisher network. Although I haven’t used it in this blog, I find it as an affiliate marketplace which offers “something for everyone”. After all, there must be something to it since they seem to be doing well with a monthly turnover of about $25 million!

Clickbooth is a CPA (Cost per Action) based affiliate marketplace. The logic is simple: You refer potential customers, you get paid for the lead.

Cloak your affiliate link to make more money

Here’s a question - If I did a review on the hypothetical affiliate site called “site.com”, and had a link that pointed to http://www.site.com/refer.php?id=XZ89FNOWND909; asking you to signup on that site, what are the chances of you actually clicking it?

My findings have shown me that people are often hesitant to click on affiliate links as such due to two reasons.

  1. It looks really weird with the id numbers and so on.
  2. People actually figure out it’s an affiliate link and directly go to the site because they just don’t want others earning a buck online.

Affiliate marketing is a million dollar industry and most of the time, affiliates tend to lose a lot of money because of their users not going through their affiliate link.
