Untitled-1 Well, long story short - Favicon means Favorite Icon. It supports and enhances the branding of a web site by actually displaying a customized icon in the browser’s URL box, and next to the site’s bookmark in a browser’s bookmark list. For an example, if you’re in the tabbed mode of your browser, you can see the logo of ROCKFUSE appearing in a 16×16 pixel size. The same with your browser’s URL, if you’re using a supporting browser. The Favicon is indeed an ico file that is 16×16 pixels.

Do I really need it?

favicon Well, if you think that a 16×16 image can’t change how your blog performs, I’d say you’re right.

Read your Google Reader feed items from your Desktop

ReadAir - That is like the coolest new Adobe AIR application for bloggers these days. With it’s Mac OSX interface, it lets you read your Google Reader subscriptions right from your own desktop! You guessed it right. Now you can have ReadAir on your Desktop and it’ll fully synchronize with your Google Reader account.

ReadAir fully supports the Google Reader’s tag functionality and many more features like searching for feeds. You can also Subscribe/Unsubscribe from the feeds logging into AdobeAir.

It’s still at it’s infant stage though. You’re very likely to run into a couple of bugs with the current release of version 0.11.

I’ve been on Twitter for sometime, and lately been a bit addicted to it. On my quest for enhancing my Twitter experience, I stumbled upon some awesome Twitter tools. But 8 of them were so exceptional that I thought that they’re probably worth sharing with the ROCKFUSE readers. So, here goes…

Twhirl - This is probably the best Twitter client for Windows out there. Let’s you post Tweets from the PC, sort Direct Messages and Replies, shorten URLs and so forth. If you’re looking for a Twitter client, this is my personal recommendation.

Posted by: User ImageNadeesha Cabral In: Blogging Tools

woopra_sharing_access Now, for those of you who haven’t heard of Woopra, well, I reckon’ you take a second to check them out. It’s a Web 2.0 live traffic statistics reporting program - much like Google Analytics, but with the coolest interface design and data representation, around town.

I haven’t really measured Woopra against Google Analytics, but Woopra seems to have the whole package, and something more., which is why I’m making the transition from Google Analytics to Woopra, now. (I’m a huge Google fanatic. But Woopra is just irresistible)

The official Woopra blog announced yesterday about their new service: Woopra Sharing Access.

images6 If there’s one thing that makes blogging pleasurable except for the topic that you’re blogging about, it would probably be the blogging software or the publishing software. Well, at least, for me.

A blog-publishing software is a web-based or a desktop-standalone piece of software that helps you to write; And depending on the functionality, helps you to publish, tag, categorize, time-stamp, and do many more things wit your blog posts. Blog publishing software provides you with an alternative to blogging directly on the web-based interface of your blogging platform.

Still using FTP to upload your plugins and themes?

Posted by: User ImageNadeesha Cabral In: Blogging Tools| Wordpress

This is a follow-up to my post - “OneClick - Who needs FTP?“.

If you’re a wordpress user, OneClick basically is a plugin that you can use to eliminate the use of user-handled File Transfers to upload new plugins and themes. In other words, if you’re the kind of blogger that tests a dozen of plugins daily, OneClick will let you do that without even using the server File-Manager.

So after using OneClick for months, I thought of doing a followup to the already published article. Mainly because, one - I don’t see many bloggers using it, and two - it had been a lifesaver for me!

Simple configuration

Unlike other plugins of it’s kind, OneClick configuration is super easy.
