How to get free images for your blog posts legally in a few seconds

Creative Commons Sometimes when I feel like I’ve got a few minutes to kill, I tend to go ahead and add a custom designed image to my blog post that I was currently working on. It’s not a necessity and I could’ve just inserted a few random pictures off the Google Image Search. But, in fact, having your own custom made graphics give that post a sense of professionalism and sometimes, you could really get into trouble when you steal off other people’s pictures from Google Image Search.

The first and the most important thing to keep in mind is that just because it comes up in a Google Image Search, you just can not go ahead and freely use it in wherever you want.

What is a Favicon, Why you need it, and How to add one to your blog…

It supports and enhances the branding of a web site by actually displaying a customized icon in the browser’s URL box, and next to the site’s bookmark in a browser’s bookmark list. For an example, if you’re in the tabbed mode of your browser, you can see the logo of ROCKFUSE appearing in a 16×16 pixel size. The same with your browser’s URL, if you’re using a supporting browser.

Filing a blog post under multiple categories – a do or a don’t?

Again; a million dollar question! Many believe that a blog post should be filed under one category and a lesser number believes that it causes no harm to file it under multiple categories. What’s my stance? Well, if you take a look at my blog, you’ll see that I’m on the middle of the road.Benefits of filing a blog post under single categories.

  • Would not create duplicate entries in your categories
    When a reader browses through your categories, that one wouldn’t be frustrated to see the same article titled “Gavin DeGraw’s Jealous Guy” featured in “songs for the heart” category and “my all time favorite soundtracks” category.

Imagine you get a free one-year subscription for Magazine A or Magazine B; of either you should choose. The choice is yours. You can’t pick both. You have no prior experience with either and you have no way to decide other than looking at the cover page. The thing is one magazine has a kick-ass logo design and the other one is just simple!
