4 Things you should do after you write a blog post!

From my personal experiences, I believe the post-blogging activities that a blogger does results in generating a major trait of traffic. So I developed a 4-step code for myself to follow after I write a blog post. And I thought it may be cool if more people actually did these things when they are starting off since they had been highly successful for me. So I thought of sharing ‘em with you.

1. Improve your language.
Of course! Spelling and Grammar check is crucial. Seriously! It is surprising to see how serious people will take your Spelling and Grammar mistakes. So check your post for Grammar and double check it for Spelling. It never hurts, does it?
It might be helpful if you consider simplifying the complicated parts in your post. There’s no point in having a really good idea for a post and then complicating it. You might want to know that you should avoid certain complicated language remarks that you use when you are blogging. Yes! They might be obvious to some and the other, they might just not have a clue as to what that remark is.
Do you use a thesaurus? If you do, good for you! If not, consider using one. It really help to add some color to your blog. Rather than using the same set of words over and over again and exhausting your readers, help you vocabulary. Also, some humor and quotes of wisdom might come in handy! People will just remember your blog jokes! Yes, I’m serious. If you have a good sense of humor, why not make use of that?
People also tend to savor short stories and personal experiences. If you have something to share, don’t hold back. An inspirational story might just be that thing you need to get that person subscribed to your blog.

2. Look within the post for inspiration.
After you have written a good blog post, and if it’s really good, you might want to write one just like that yeah? You want another good idea just like that yeah? Well, here’s a way you can do that. And just for the record, I have been really successful with it.
Open you mind for ideas (as a good blogger should always be), and read your post from the top to the bottom. Get every word into your mind. And somewhere between the first word and the last, inspiration WILL strike! Yes!! Might be that small point you made or that example you laid out. It will probably give some ideas, good ones necessarily for the next blog post.

3. Promote it!
If you have any plugging or any blog directories you are using, ping them all! (Yes, I know that’s a bit obvious) And also, if you don’t have that much of a regular reader-ship, don’t wait for someone else to Digg it or Stumble it for you. Chances are likely that someone will never. Just Digg it yourself. Stumble it and even add to del.icio.us!
Well, of course, you might be thinking that’s being a bit cheap, do you? I don’t. (And until you hit big time, there’s no harm in being a bit cheap either) Those services are for people to share the stories that they think are most interesting! Isn’t your own post interesting to you? Yes, I guessed so. So why not do it? It’ll make easier for ‘em to discover you! Also, provided you have a facebook account, share it! Post it to your profile…

4. Comment on other relevant blogs.
After you publish it, do search on relevant topics on others blogs. If you find relevant posts, then comment on them and post a link to your article also saying that, “Nice Article! I really dig it. I also had a post coming that way..”; you get the basic idea! A person reading that post is also more likely to check your article out. And that particular blogger, will link to you if your regularly comment on his blog, since you are writing on the same things and face it; since you are an impressive blogger.

So guess I gave you something to think about today. I know there might be loads of other great things you could do. Care to tell me some of yours?

WOW…I found so many useful tips here while dropping Entrecards, I literally quit to read some of your posts. I bookmarked you to come back later and continue reading. I’m a newbie, only been doing this just under two months. Thanks for the info on stumble and digg. I really had no clue what to do with them. I didn’t even put stumble on my blog, but after reading what you posted, I’m backtracking and headed there to do what you suggested. Three weeks ago my blog sat at an Alexa rating of 33 million. (head down in shame), now it’s at the half million rank. Any other suggestions you can throw my way…holler!!! I’m listening! Thanks!!! PK
